HOLISTIC SCHOLARSHIPS
EDUCATION & RESOURCES LEAD TO OPPORTUNITY. OPPORTUNITY LEADS TO HOPE
AND HOPE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
HOLISTIC SCHOLARSHIP
Our scholarship program seeks to empower marginalized youth in BiH through education. We bring together an ethnically and religiously diverse group of BiH youth to promote unity and diversity. We go beyond traditional aid with our holistic scholarship that provides additional educational support through tutoring, room and board, English lessons, and more to ensure each scholar has the tools necessary to succeed. Together, through higher education and the unity of the youth, we are building a better BIH.
The statistics on education are conclusive. A college degree leads to higher earning power, greater access to food and electricity, healthcare, and a stable home environment. Because the country has not yet economically and politically recovered from the brutal civil war, once-thriving families have been unable to regain emotional and financial stability. Ethnic tensions limit job opportunities, social interactions, and community involvement as youth attempt to navigate ethnic lines built before them. For the next generation, higher education seems impossible as their families have been trapped in a cycle of poverty and post-traumatic stress by no fault of their own. There are few scholarships or student loan options available to help finance education in BiH. This is where Jericho creates opportunities where there are none and impacts a region, one student at a time.

BIH STUDENT LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
HOW WE SELECT OUR STUDENTS
We recruit academically talented students who are limited by their geographic location, financial need, and difficult family circumstances. We look at grades, essays, recommendation letters, extracurricular activities, and family finances and hold an interview. Students maintain their scholarship through the equivalent of a Master’s degree by achieving excellent grades, semester reports, and participating in our leadership workshops.
